    Personal Statement

     

    Experienced and adaptable employee utilising good communication skills on a daily basis. I have hosted visitors to the workplace, involving welcoming them, guided tours of the company, meetings and contributed to relevant technical discussions. Also I have chaired meetings, set agendas and produced minutes from the meetings. During projects I have sent numerous reports to members of staff and conducted presentations. An acute awareness of health and safety issues at work, having worked in environments from the office to industrial laboratories. Willing to learn new skills and apply any existing knowledge to the tasks ahead. Hard working, reliable and an excellent timekeeper.

    Help with the accounting, charity collections and general administration duties

    of the charity. Update and distribute certification for charity donors

     

    Jan 11 – Dec 11         AkzoNobel Birmingham West Midlands - Temporary Assistant Resin Chemist.

    Production, modification, and spraying of epoxy resins for surface coating applications. Production of polyester and latex resins. Basic examination and evaluation of cavities on internal surface of soft drinks cans. Adhesion promoters were made and sent for evaluation. Viscometry: (Flow Cup, Brookfield, Cone & Plate and Bubble Tube). EEW titrations and acid group titrations were carried out.

     

    Mar 01-Feb 09            Polymer Laboratories, Church Stretton, Shropshire - Polymer Research Chemist.

    Production, custom synthesis, modification and research on select polymers. Last project was production of polyvinyl alcohol particles with specific size characteristics, using a membrane technique and shaker system. Size analysis was carried out on particles produced and the application was for blood typing. Infrared analysis carried out on selected resins.
