Personal Statement
Recently retired from a 36 year teaching career in Primary Schools. My most recent post
was Head Teacher of a Church of England Primary School in Sandwell, a role that requires
the ability to not only plan rigorously, but also be prepared to “think on your feet” and adapt
plans as and when required in a constantly changing environment. As Head Teacher I
assumed responsibility for the Leadership and Management of a staff of approximately 40
employees; the well-being and progress of 200 pupils and liaison with many related outside
agencies..

Achievements
• Doubled number on roll (from 104 to 198)• Introduction and development of "Creative, Experiential Curriculum"• Introduction of whole-school (KS2), inclusive Ukulele Orchestra.
• Management of annual £900,000 budget
2003-2007: Deputy Head Teacher, St. John's CE Primary School, Sandwell
1978-2003: A variety of Class Teaching posts in Local Education Authorities, including Telford & Wrekin. Reason for leaving each post was for promotion into a post with additional management responsibility.
